IDI's Role & Contribution

IDI served as the design and innovation partner—applying our holistic, human-centred and systems-led practice (behavioural insights, systemic thinking, and service design) to help translate the challenge into a clear solution pathway, usable workflows, and decision-ready narratives for partners and stakeholders.

The Problem

Three interlocking failures created a system where continuity of care was structurally impossible.

Strengthening dairy value chains through WhatsApp onboarding, milk data capture, and AI-enabled ERP systems.

Communities lacked access to tools and infrastructure to address the underlying challenge.

Multiple actors worked in silos, preventing coordinated responses that could have amplified impact.

Our Approach

Our methodology supported solution design around SpaceAI’s Advanced Digital Agent Network (ADAN)—a WhatsApp-based interface for onboarding, daily milk data capture and verification—backed by an AI-enabled ERP to manage cooperative governance (payments and payroll), and complemented by modules such as receivables gap financing, marketplace/check-off services, data-driven extension support, and aggregation linkages.

Project Outcome & Impact

SpaceAI’s digitised operations strengthen efficiency, improving trust and productivity, with agents able to handle 100+ conversations per day; partners also reported higher agent satisfaction, improved cooperative resilience (including climate-shock coping support), and the work was backed by an independent impact study conducted with a professional firm.
